STIHL Ematic System. Compared to conventional bars without Ematic, the STIHL Ematic system reduces the consumption of chain lubricant by up to 50, depending on the type of wood and the cutting attachment used. This system comprises a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain and a variableflow or reducedflow oil pump.a great choice for the heavy cutting needs of most farmers or firewood cutters and it saves compared to the 361 a small light saw for limbing like the ms 260 or ms250 is good to have. the 390 saw is heavy compared to ms260. but the small saws are not good for a 20 bar like 390 can handle. 390 stihl specs
Apr 06, 2008 I looked at the 390 some time ago and opted for the 361. Better, lighter, and more metal in the right places. I have a 290, the baby brother of the 390 on the same chassis. I used (and stihl use) that saw for several years. The 390 is a good saw, for more occastional use, and under less extreme conditions, and it is 100 cheaper. It will do the job.
An automatic chain and bar oiler makes for proper lubrication and subsequent less use of oil. Stihl also developed an inboard chain brake that needs less maintenance and makes it easier to get to the sprockets for removal. Through customer input, Stihl created a system to adjust the chain without tools for easier tension changes. Stihl MS 390 MS 391 Farm Boss: 27 customer reviews on Australia's largest opinion site 3. 7 out of 5 stars for Stihl MS 390 MS 391 Farm Boss in Petrol Chainsaws.390 stihl specs Apr 11, 2013 My 390 comfortably does a 24 bar. I haven't tried a 28 bar so I can't comment on it, but 24 is nothing for a muff modded 390. It's 6cc shy of 70 so it's not exactly a small saw.
